Ingots are the basic resource unit of the TFC Metalworking Industry. They are created from a variety of metals and alloys, and are worked on anvils to produce weapons, tools, and armor.

Creating Ingots

Ingots are created by placing an unshaped ingot in a crafting grid to remove it. Only non-liquid ingots can be removed from their molds. Clicking and dragging the ingot from the output slot will result in the ingot retaining its temperature. Using a hot-bar key to move the ingot out of the slot will result in a completely cooled ingot.

Melting Ingots

It is possible to metal ingots down into their unworked metal form by raising their temperature to their melting point. Doing so requires an empty ceramic mold in either the firepit or forge used to melt the ingot, or the resulting liquid metal will be lost.

Using Ingots

Are the basic building block of the TFC metalworking industry, and are used in all metal constructions. They may be used with plans on an anvil to make weapons, tools, and armor, and may be welded into double ingots (Ingot x2).

Ingot Piles

Ingot Piles are used to store Ingots. Each pile can store up to 64 ingots of one metal. To create an ingot pile, the ingot must be completely cooled and have not been worked past removing from the mold.
Note: If the ingot has been worked on an anvil, it will say so in the tool-tip while hovering your mouse over it. If this is the case, it will need to be re-melted and shaped before being able to place in a pile.

To create an Ingot Pile simply Sneak (⇧ Shift) and Right Click an Ingot on a solid block, or a full ingot pile. Sneak and Right Click additional same type Ingots to continue building the Ingot Pile. To remove an Ingot from the Pile, simply Right Click. If an ingot pile is taller than 1 block (more than 64 ingots) and is composed entirely of one metal type, right clicking on the middle or bottom of the pile will remove an ingot from the top of the pile. If the pile is composed of different metal types, removing an ingot from underneath a pile of different metals will cause everything above it to collapse and fall as items to the ground.
