Knapping

Knapping is the process of using two rocks to create heads for stone tools. Knapping currently uses the same patterns as plans. Right clicking while holding a stack of two or more rocks will launch a GUI for knapping a rock into a tool head. The tool head can then be attached to a stick to create a stone tool. The process of knapping will produce Stone Flakes, which can be used as a tool to collect Straw from tall grass, or to craft Arrows.

Tip: Stone tools do not stack, but tool heads will stack up to 4.

ALERT: Armor, chisels, maces, pickaxes, prospector's picks, saws, scythes and swords are all unable to be made with stone.

Durability of Stone Tools

Main article: Rock

Some types of stone will result in more durable stone tools than others. This is not immediately apparent, as all stone tool icons look the same.

In order of increasing durability: Sedimentary, Metamorphic, Igneous Intrusive, Igneous Extrusive.

Stone axes only drop 90% of the logs from a tree.

Knapping Patterns

TIP: some of the tools can be knapped out differently than the below forms, feel free to experiment.
