Scallops

scallops, like starfishes, are animals that can be found underwater. they can be collected by right clicking them, like stones, and they can also be placed back for farming. when collected they are alive, and if the player has them in the inventory while he comes out of the water, they'll start to loose durability, simulating them suffocating. they'll regain instantly full durability if the player goes back in the water before they die. they will also be able to survive if placed in a barrel or vessel full of salt water while the player itself is in a block of salt water.

scallops and starfishes can be farmed by placing they underwater while they're alive. they can be placed by using right click while looking at a sand block that's under a block of salt water. scallops only need to be underwater to reproduce, while starfishes need to have some scallops nearby for each of them. this makes scallops easy to farm (as well as a renewable source of lime, thanks to their seashells) and starfishes harder to farm, but also more rewarding, since every starfish will give 16 oz of food each, as opposed to scallops giving only 1 oz of food each.
