Shellfish are a type of item that spawns in shore biomes on top of sand. They can be used as food and to obtain seashells.

Obtaining

Scallops and Seastars spawn in the shallows of Shore biomes.

They can be collected or placed in Salt Water with Rmb.png Right Click. They are alive when collected, and if taken out of the water, they will start to loose durability over time. When their durability reaches zero (this takes several in-game hours) they will turn into a Dead Scallop or Dead Seastar. Dead versions cannot be placed back in the Water and will immediately begin to Decay. Usage

Scallops

Scallops can be crafted with a Knife to get 1 oz. of Scallop meat and 2 Seashells. Since Scallops are farmable, this means Seashells are a renewable source of Lime in areas without Fluxstone.

Seastars

Seastars can be crafted with a Knife to get 16 oz of raw Seastar Meat
