Shale is a dark gray stone found in the world. Mining it with a pickaxe has a chance to yield shale rocks.

Shale rock can be used to create a forge or it can be knapped into a Stone Hammer, Stone Shovel, Stone Hoe, or Stone Axe.

Smooth shale can be used for decoration, and shale bricks can be used to construct a bloomery.
