Obtaining
Resin can be obtained by 
Right Clicking a natural log block with a knife. Doing so has a chance to not return any resin. Trees have an infinite amount of resin, and are not damaged by harvesting resin.
Uses
Resin can be crafted together with straw to make crude bandages.
