Obtaining
Candles are made from placing any type of string (apart from Sinew and Grass Cordage), Jute Fiber, or Sisal Fiber in a vessel or barrel of Wax.
Note: Currently, heating more than 8 empty honeycombs at once may not work. Try melting the honeycombs one at a time.

Usage
Like Torches, Candles can be placed on the ground to light an area. Unlike Torches, candles do not sputter, and thus are safe to use around flammable blocks. They cannot be placed on the sides of blocks unless they are supported by a Candle Holder.
To light an unlit Candle, 
Right Click on a lit Torch, Firepit or Candle with the unlit Candle in hand, or place the unlit Candle and Right Click with a Firestarter or Flint & Steel, or a lit Torch or Candle.
Candle Holders
A candle holder can be made from casting Brass, Sterling Silver, Silver, Rose Gold, and Gold in the appropriate Candle Holder molds. Candles in Candle Holders burn more brightly and for a longer time, and can be mounted on the sides of blocks. There are three kinds of Candle Holders, which carry up to three candles. Brass only requires a Single Candle Holder Mold, while Sterling Silver and Silver require a Double Holder Candle Mold, and Rose Gold and Gold requires a Triple Candle Holder Mold.
