Javelin Uses

File:Javelins.gif

The Javelin is the most basic dedicated weapon the player can create in TerraFirmaCraft.
The Javelin can be drawn like a bow, hitting for heavy damage. The javelin passes through enemies and can be recovered. There is a chance it will use durability when thrown.
The Javelin, though capable of being used as a melee weapon, is more effectively used as a throwing spear.

Metal Javelin

Metal Javelins can only be made from tool metals. They can be cast in ceramic molds, or worked on a metal anvil.

Casting

Main article: Casting

As of Build 77, Bismuth Bronze, Black Bronze, Bronze, and Copper Javelins can be cast using a Vessel and a Ceramic Mold instead of working on an anvil.

Once you have your Unshaped Copper (or a bronze) you need to make a Ceramic Javelin Mold:

To pour your mold, right click your liquid unshaped ingot to open the casting interface:

Put the ceramic Javelin mold in the second input slot and wait for the filled mold to finished.

Smithing

Javelin Blades can also be crafted by using ingots on an anvil with a hammer. This is the only option for higher tier metals that cannot be cast. The durability depends both on the metal used and the skill of the smith forging the tool.
