Obtaining

The primary method of gathering sticks is by breaking Leaf Blocks. Punching leaves will drop a stick roughly one third of the time. Using a Scythe makes stick gathering more efficient by destroying a 3x3x3 area of leaf blocks at once, centered at the broken block, but will decrease the drop rate of sticks to one tenth of the time.

Sticks can drop from the branches of Trees and when the player breaks Leaf Litter.

Sticks can also be crafted from a Pole or Bundle of Sticks.

Firepit

To create a Firepit, throw (Default: Q) three sticks onto a block and then light the top surface of the block with a Firestarter or Flint & Steel. Sticks can also be used as fuel for a firepit, burning much shorter and cooler than wood logs (0.2 hour burn time, temperature Very Hot), lower than Zinc or Lead melts so you can use this to warm ingots for working those metals (useful only for making Zinc or Lead Sheets into Trap Doors currently). Bundle of Sticks can also be used for firepit fuel (0.7 hour burn time, temperature Very Hot***)^Verify. See Trees or Item Temperature for how these compare.

Torches

Sticks are crafted with Straw and Resin to make unlit Torches.

Right Click on a lit torch or lit firepit, or place and Right Click with a firestarter or flint and steel to light the torch.

Configuration

By default, sticks cannot be crafted from plank blocks and vanilla Fences and Fence Gates cannot be crafted.
