Fibers are collected from plants or animals and crafted into useful items like rope or string.

Obtaining

Cotton fiber is harvested directly from mature Cotton Plants. Flax and Jute fibers are crafted by sealing the harvested Flax or Jute plant items into a barrel for 8 hours with fresh water. Sisal fiber is crafted by placing an Agave item and a knife in the crafting grid. Wool fiber is crafted either by using Right Click on a Mouflon or Sheep while holding a Knife or Shears in hand, or by crafting a Sheepskin with a Knife in the crafting grid. Cutting Wool from a Sheepskin will also return a Raw Hide as well.

Use

Jute and Sisal fibers can be woven directly into Burlap Cloth (no string step needed) on the Loom.

Jute and Sisal Fibers can also be crafted into Rope.

Cotton, Flax, and Wool fibers can be crafted into String on the Spindle.

Trivia

Silk does not have a fiber form. It drops from Spiders as String. Jute and Sisal are the only fibers used directly on the Loom without first being crafted into String.
