Obtaining

The primary method of gathering sticks is by breaking Leaves. Punching leaves will drop a stick roughly one third of the time. Using a Scythe makes stick gathering more efficient by destroying a 3x3x3 area of leaf blocks at once, centered at the broken block, but will decrease the drop rate of sticks to one tenth of the time. Note: If you chop down a tree before harvesting the leaves, the leaves will disappear and will not drop sticks.

Smashing a Log with a Hammer will drop 1-3 sticks.

Sticks can also be crafted from a Pole.

Firepit

To create a Firepit, throw (Default: Q) three sticks onto a block and then light the top surface of the block with a Firestarter or Flint & Steel.

Torches

Sticks are turned into torches by lighting them in a firepit or a forge. Sticks do not have the standard heat values, and instead display "Catching Fire" and "Lit" before turning into torches.
