Alcohol in TFC+ can be obtained from a variety of sources and has many uses from drinking to making vinegar and sterilizing bandages. Alcohol is divided in two categories: Fermented Alcohol, which is made from fermenting fruits, vegetables and grains, and Distilled Alcohol, which is made from distilling Fermented Alcohol. Distilled Alcohol is a lot stronger than the respective Fermented Alcohol.

Obtaining
Malted Grain
Grain can be malted before fermenting to make beers. The advantage of malting instead making a wine directly from the grain is that malting increases the volume of the grain by 20%. To malt a grain, the place a large clay vessel filled with fresh water on top of a lit firepit, add the grains to the vessel's item slot, then seal the vessel. After the grains have been malted, the player needs to roast the malt in a campfire before it can be used to make beer.
Fermented Alcohols
To obtain Fermented Alcohol, the player has to put 160 oz of the desired fermentable item (or 32 items in the case of agave) in a barrel full of fresh water and then seal the barrel. After four ingame days have passed, the item will be consumed and the barrel will be converted to a barrel of Alcohol. The type of Alcohol created depends on the item used. Using fruit, vegetables or unmalted grains will result in wines, while using malt will result in beers.

Distilled Alcohols
To obtain Distilled Alcohol, the player has to distill Fermented Alcohol. To distill Alcohol, the player has to put a large clay vessel on top of a fire pit and then add a blowpipe in the vessel's item slot. They then need to put a another vessel adjacent to the main vessel to catch the distilled Alcohol. If everything is set up correctly, the appearance of the distilling vessel should change to that of a clay still, signaling that the player is good to go. To start the process itself, the player has to start the firepit and add a Fermented Alcohol to the distilling vessel. After some time, distilled Alcohol will start to deposit in the receiving vessel. For every 200 ml of Fermented Alcohol, 25 ml of Distilled Alcohol are produced. Using different kinds of Fermented Alcohols will of course result in different kinds of Distilled Alcohols.
Usage
Alcohol has a variety of uses. Fermented Alcohol can be drunk to restore a little thirst, and Alcohol in general provides a boost in experience after being drunk. Alcohol may also give the players random potion effects when drunk. Barrels and vessels of Fermented Alcohol, if left unsealed, will turn into Vinegar.
Cloth bandages can be soaked in Distilled Alcohol to make Sterile Bandages, consuming 100 mb for every bandage sterilized.

Drunkenness
The player can become drunk if they drink too much Alcohol. There are three consecutive stages to drunkennes: Drunk, Very Drunk and Wasted. If the player is Drunk, the have a small chance of failing to interact with items such as chests and barrels. Should such a failure happen, it will be accompanied by a chat notification with the text "Oops!". Should the player continue drinking, they may become Very Drunk. While Very Drunk, they have a higher chance of failing to interact with items, will also find it impossible to use an anvil. The player's view will also be blurry. Should the player keep drinking, they will become Wasted. While wasted, the player's view will become even more blurry, the chance to fail interacting with items will grow and the player will also wobble side to side while walking. If the player decides to continue drinking past this point, they will probably die of Alcohol poisoning. Drunkenness will slowly wear off on its own.
