Native Platinum |
Platinum is a Tier 3 metal obtained by smelting Native Platinum in a Crucible. Due to the metal's high melting temperature, it cannot be smelted in a Ceramic Vessel. Platinum has the highest melting point of any metal in TFC+. it requires an extremely hot forge with several very fast bellows to melt it (much more so than even iron and ferrous alloys), making it impractical to work with until the player has a well established mechanism system set up.
Usage
Liquid platinum can be poured into a Ceramic Mold to make unshaped platinum. Once the unshaped platinum is no longer liquid temperature, it can be placed in the crafting grid to create a platinum ingot. The empty mold will be returned to the inventory; although there is a chance of it breaking and being lost.
Creating an ingot will only work if the metal is in a solid state. The temperature will be carried over from the unshaped ingot temperature.
