Use
when you send out the lure, nearby fish see it and swim towards it they'll show interest eventually, one might try to touch the lure if it touches it, they stick similarly to how vanilla fishing rods work to yank mobs around in vanilla, the entity's movement is just taken over by the rod. in TFC+, the fish is told which way the lure is pulling and it decides how much it wants to pull away
When a player holds right click on the rod, it tells the lure entity that you're pulling the lure tells the fish that there's force being applied towards you and the fish tries to resist that the fish will try to pull in bursts as it struggles When the fish is pulling and you are pulling at the same time, that creates tension on the line the tension is shown to the player via the xp bar which transforms into a tension meter if the tension reaches max, the line snaps and the fish gets away the fish keeps track of how tired it is the higher the tension on the line, the more the fish gets tired
When the fish runs out of energy, it's basically unable to resist being reeled in so the fishing mechanic is basically keep enough tension on the line without letting the tension go too high until the fish tires itself out enough to be reeled in smaller fish often can't completely overcome the tension and will be reeled in even when they're fully resisting larger fish will be able to do the opposite
