Hoe Uses
Hoes can be used to turn grass or dirt into farmland, just like vanilla. No Wooden Hoes are available in Terra Firma.
Hoe modes
While you can switch to different modes on any hoe, no stone hoe can actually utilize the effects in the modes, you can only till with a stone hoe.

Metal Hoe
Metal Hoes can only be made from tool metals. They can be cast in ceramic molds, or worked on a metal anvil.
Casting

As of Build 77, Bismuth Bronze, Black Bronze, Bronze, and Copper Hoes can be cast using a Vessel and a Ceramic Mold instead of working on an anvil.
Once you have your Unshaped Copper (or a bronze) you need to make a Ceramic Hoe Mold:

Smithing
- Main article: Working
Hoe heads can also be crafted by using ingots on an anvil with a hammer. This is the only option for higher tier metals that cannot be cast. The durability depends both on the metal used and the skill of the smith forging the tool.
