Obtaining
Lead Bullets are Cast from Lead using a Ceramic Bullet Mold.
The Bullet Mold requires 100 units of molten lead to be filled, and produces 8 bullets.

Lead Bullets can be collected after firing and reused. However, if they strike a hard surface such as a Rock block, they will be deformed and turn into Lead Chunks. These can be recast into bullets, but there is some loss involved as it takes 100 units of lead to cast into 8 bullets, and 8 bullets turned into chunks will only yield 80 units of lead.
Usage
Lead Bullets are used as ammo for the Sling. They will do Crushing Damage and do more of it than Rocks, which are the other ammo option.
