Liquid copper can be poured into a [[Pottery#Ceramic Mold|Ceramic Mold]] to make unshaped copper. Once the unshaped copper is no longer liquid temperature, it can be placed in the crafting grid to create a copper ingot. The empty mold will be returned to the inventory; although there is a chance of it breaking and being lost.

Copper is a Tier 1 metal obtained by smelting Native Copper, Tetrahedrite, or Malachite in a Ceramic Vessel or a Crucible.

Usage

Casting

Main article: Casting

Vessel

Place an empty or partially filled ceramic tool or weapon mold into the slot to fill it with copper from the vessel. It takes 100 units of copper to completely fill an empty Ceramic Mold. The text in the vessel's GUI will update to show the amount of copper remaining in the vessel.

Unshaped Ingot

If the copper has already been turned into an ingot, simply heat it in a forge with an empty ingot mold in the appropriate slot to melt it. While the full, unshaped copper is at liquid temperature, right click while it is selected on the hotbar to open the casting GUI. Place a single empty tool or weapon mold into the first slot on the right to begin the transfer. Once the transfer is complete the tool mold will move into the output slot and will show itself filled with metal.

Once the mold is full, place it into the crafting area and retrieve the finished tool or weapon head from the output. The mold will be destroyed in the process.

Smithing

Liquid copper can be poured into a Ceramic Mold to make unshaped copper. Once the unshaped copper is no longer liquid temperature, it can be placed in the crafting grid to create a copper ingot. The empty mold will be returned to the inventory; although there is a chance of it breaking and being lost.

Creating an ingot will only work if the metal is in a solid state. The temperature will be carried over from the unshaped ingot temperature.
